I am happy to report that my horror novella The Crimson V has been acquired by Black Hare Press and will be available sometime next year as part of their “Short Reads” series.
This one is a ghost story set on an island whose principal trade is bookbinding. Yes, you heard me. Bookbinding. It blends fantasy, M.R. James-style scholarly ghost story, suppressed trauma, and Spanish Inquisition-type horrors (bet you weren’t expecting that, either!). I’ll share more info here and on the socials as they come.
But more pressingly (not a bookbinding joke, I don’t think), my debut novel A Shadow So Big is nearly upon us. This traces three decades in the life of Jane Canyon, who is haunted by an evil entity she calls “The Bat.” Part coming-of-age tale, part mystery novel, and part scare-the-pants-off-ya paranormal suspense, I am quite proud of it, and people seem to like it!
Pre-order links and more information to come very soon, but the expected release date is late September 2026 from Spilt Ink Press/Gordon Publishing Collective.
This website is newly revamped. Get to know me over on Threads, where I post more frequently.
Be seeing you,
Jeff
